Junior Designer

We are on the hunt for a talented junior designer that is great at graphic design and interested in digital. The ideal candidate is an expert at Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. They aren’t afraid to try new things, but have a knack with creative layouts, branding, posters/signage and packaging. This is a unique contract opportunity to help shape and grow a small studio.

Collaborating with the lead creative and other team members, the junior designer is responsible for conceptualizing and executing visually compelling and highly usable solutions that deliver on the user need and business/brand value.

Skills

• Interested in doing more interactive design
• Social media user and mobile fanatic

Interactive Designer

We are on the hunt for a talented, innovative designer that is an expert in digital / interactive design and user experience. The ideal candidate lives and breathes a digital life, possesses a visceral understanding of creative development in all its forms (discovery, ux, visual, motion, overseeing development, measurement), has the ability to facilitate creative dialogue and thrives in a fast paced, start-up environment. This is a unique contract opportunity to help shape and grow a small studio.

Collaborating with a small cross-discipline team, the Digital Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and executing visually compelling and highly usable solutions that deliver on the user need and business/brand value.

Skills

• A comfortable leader with presentation and public speaking skills
• Able to scale concepts across platforms (web, mobile, tablet, iOS, Android and beyond)
• Bonus: Cross-functional design expertise outside of digital design, such as digital development expertise, video, information architecture, packaging design, brand identity design, industrial design, research, etc.

Software Proficiencies
• Required: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, MS Office Suite, Dreamweaver or related

Responsibilities
• Designing page functionality and flows
• Compelling visual design of digital identity and look and feel for sites/apps/etc.
• Prototyping in standard experience design software (e.g. Axure, Omnigraffle, Dreamweaver, etc.)
• Assessment and analysis of current site traffic, market trends and best practices in order to help build a site/app/etc. that is known for it easy usability.
• Development of new projects that address primary user and company needs.
• Analysis and optimization of current flows and designs to address the consumer needs
• Creating page schematics and flow documentation in order to translate requirements to visual designers, engineers and QA
• Providing accurate/aggressive sizing estimates for projects and meeting fast paced timelines according to schedule.
• Providing feasibility analysis on new projects and requirements
• Working with front end developers to design pages in a way to increase speed/load time and reduce complexity.
• Work collaboratively across production team to support a creative environment that fosters innovative designs that speak to our core customer.
• Establish UI standards and policies/procedures for the website/apps/etc.
• Support marketing activities by researching and tracking effectiveness of existing flows – optimize as necessary
• Define and track key success metrics for the user interface

• B.A., or equivalent education and/or work experience, with emphasis on design and user experience
